  • What is ConnectMaxx Service?
  • ConnectMaxx is a fast, portable, affordable wireless Internet service.
  • How does ConnectMaxx work?
  • ConnectMaxx service uses state-of-the-art technology to transmit radio signals from a base tower to a modem that is about the size of a book.  The modem easily connects to your computer.  Once you plug in your modem, your connection is always on and always secure.
  • Is ConnectMaxx secure?
  • ConnectMaxx runs on fully licensed and protected radio frequencies.  This technology provides as much or more security than traditional wireless Internet solutions.
  • How can I pay for my ConnectMaxx service?
  • Use your credit or debit card to set up recurring payments so you won't have interruptions of service.  Or, if you prefer, you can choose to pay by check via mail.  We also offer a one year prepayment plan which gives you an additional 15% off. 
  • Are there any limits to bandwidth usage?
  • You can access the Internet as much as you would like.  Your computer will connect to the Internet automatically at the speed that you choose in your service plan.  There is no limit to the amount of bandwidth you can use within the terms of our service agreement.  Click here to see our full service agreement.
  • How fast is ConnectMaxx service?
  • ConnectMaxx service is available at multiple speeds up to 2 MB.  DSL and cable offer similar speeds.
  • Is ConnectMaxx reliable?
  • Yes.  With ConnectMaxx you’ll enjoy your connection that is “always on.”  Plus, with ConnectMaxx it is easy to tell the strength of your signal.  Your modem will display signal lights, similar to the bars on a cellular phone, to tell you the strength of your connection.
  • Is ConnectMaxx mobile?
  • ConnectMaxx is portable.  You can move from place-to-place within the ConnectMaxx coverage area.  Use ConnectMaxx in your home or your favorite coffee shop—anywhere with a power outlet!
  • Will I be able to setup ConnectMaxx services on my computer myself?
  • For most customers, setting up ConnectMaxx service involves a “plug-and-play” installation.  Customers can establish an Internet connection in a matter of minutes—no need for a technician to configure additional hardware and no need for software to be loaded onto computers.  Just follow the information guide, or call us at 1-800-979-3797, we’re here to help!
  • What if my computer is setup in one room but my signal is stronger in another?
  • Usually customers are able to receive a strong signal wherever their computer is located.  However, using a wireless access router, you can place the ConnectMaxx modem wherever your signal is strongest, regardless of where your computer is located. Wireless access routers are available at many major retailers.
  • What is ConnectMaxx Hotspot?
  • ConnectMaxx Hotspot is a service that will enable the Business customers of ConnectMaxx High Speed Internet subscribers to offer wireless Internet access to their customers. This service is intended to be used from your business.
  • What is a hotspot?
  • A hotspot is a specific area that offers Internet access for wi-fi enabled devices like a laptop, netbook, or PDA using a wireless signal. Hotspots are often found at restaurants, airports, hotels, coffee shops and other public places.
  • Do I need any additional equipment?
  • If you have a wireless-enabled device, no additional equipment is needed to use the ConnectMaxx Hotspot service. If you do not have a wireless-enabled device, you will need to purchase a wireless card.
  • What factors can affect my connection speed while using ConnectMaxx hotspot?
  • Several factors may affect Wi-Fi signal strength including the location of wireless infrastructure, the direction of the wireless antenna, building architecture and materials, and the number of other wireless devices in operation at the location. Consequently, Wi-Fi signal strength may vary by hotspot location.
  • How do I know where the ConnectMaxx High Speed Internet service is available?
  • Visit www.connectmaxx.com and look under coverage area to see whether ConnectMaxx is available in your area. ConnectMaxx service is available in the U.S. only.
  • What if I have trouble connecting?
  • There are a few things you can do to solve your connection problems. You can try to reboot your laptop or netbook. Check to see if you computer haa a Wi-Fi setting and be sure it’s on. If your computer does not have a Wi-Fi setting, go to Internet Options on your computer and verify your wireless LAN (WLAN) connection is enabled. If it is not enabled, right click and enable it. Check your signal. Right click on the wireless icon in the system tray, select “View Wireless Networks” and select a network from the list presented.
